benefits) THE POSITION Under direct supervision, provides routine administrative support to the Community and Economic Development Department including general and complex clerical and office support and customer service duties.
This position reports directly to a Manager and may be given assignments involving reporting responsibility to others designated by the Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITIED TO:
Processes new and renewed business licenses and maintains related records and database.
Attends various meetings, takes and transcribes minutes, and disseminates information to appropriate staff.
Performs clerical and logistical support tasks in preparation for Commission, Board and/or Committee meetings; arranges and schedules meetings; prepares and posts agendas; assembles public packet materials; delivers and picks-up documents; sends agenda materials and documents.
Qualifications:
(An equivalent combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
) Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience:
One (1) year of administrative support experience.
Public agency experience is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILLS:

) Knowledge of:
Administrative support principles and practices, and general office methods and techniques including filing, records processing, meeting minute and agenda preparation, and maintenance procedures and systems.
City policies, rules, and regulations; City organization and functions of the various departments.
Applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations, including knowledge of the Ralph M.
Brown Act.
Ability to:
Initiate tasks and focus on accomplishments by knowing what needs to be done and do it without being told; organize, prioritize, and follow-up on work assignments.
Prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
Interpret, explain, and enforce department policies and procedures.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Skill to:
Operate standard office equipment effectively, including a computer and applicable software applications.
